Hello my future "nappy" head! :o)
I know that you have expressed 'nervousness' in going natural, but we are definitely here to help you and help the transition be as smooth and fun as possible. The way this blog came about was that Rashana asked me if I wanted to do a hair challenge, we agreed on what we wanted to do and then I said we needed a way to keep tabs on each other so I decided to start a blog (the idea only came about because of the coupon blog the ladies in my fam are doing lol **which you can follow if you'd like :)** ).
So the challenge basically had 3 parts: spiritual, fitness, and hair. At first it was just hair but I threw in the spiritual because I feel like we need to converse with our Creator to attain the things we want and more importantly to have a more grounded relationship. Its usually easier to do something or work towards a goal (i.e. a better walk with God) if you have someone to hold you accountable (which is what we are doing with each other). And the fitness came about cause we need to be healthy and happy! Exercising will keep us fit and healthy (cause you can't grow long beautiful hair without being healthy first).
The spiritual challenge is to read a devotional, scripture, E.G. White, ANYTHING and pray at least twice a day. What we've been doing is basically taking turns posting a thought for the day or something along those lines. We didn't say we were going to take turns but its just happened to turn out that way lol.
The fitness challenge is to work out for at least 30 minutes every day. It can be any workout you want but it needs to be something. Neither of us have done this yet but starting Sunday I will be doing something!
The hair challenge as I told you before: No heat until Dec (except for job interviews or special occasions...and they really have to be SPECIAL). Protective styles until Dec, and moisturize at least 4 times a week.
Included in this challenge is the responsibility to post at least once a day. Put up pics of your hair as you are going through the transition so that you'll be able to have a way to look at your progress. I do understand that once school starts it may be hard to post every single day but give it your best shot and see what we come up with!
Ok, I'm tired of typing.....
Love you! :)
