Matthew 1-5

Let me start off by saying it was wonderful. i'm gonna speak about a few versus from Matthew chapter 5.

Matthew 5: 5-6 Happiness comes from being submissive. When you acknowledge God as the source of life and abilities, you will feel heaven's joy. One day, people like this will fill the whole earth. 6. Happiness comes from longing to do what is right. Those who do right will have an inner satisfaction that nothing else can give.

Matthew 5:10 Happiness even comes from being treated badly for dong what's right. Just remember that no matter what happens, your place in heaven is secure.

Last, Matthew 5:11-12 Strangely enough, you'll find yourself blessed even when people insult you, persecute you and lie about you because you have accepted me. 12. when this happens, be glad, because it shoes that your name is written in heaven and that your reward will be waiting for you there. Remember, the prophets were treated no differently.

These verses really touched me because I believe that when you witness to someone or someone comments about how great your life may seem. Instead of saying "it's not that great or girl i don't know what you see" say " it's all because of God and what he is doing for me.

especially Matthew 5:10-12. I am sometimes treated badly or misunderstood for my religion and my beliefs. We must remember that we are not the only ones who have gone through this. This is comforting that even God was persecuted and crucified for who he was. If my place in heaven will is secure just to have to put up with this earthly B.S. then so be it. Love you guys.

  1. What translation is your bible? I like the way it speaks(if that made sense).

The things that stuck out to me were:

Matt 1:23- Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, "God with us".

*I LOVE that! "God is with us" I believe we forget that His name is Immanuel, we get so caught up in all of our daily drama and stress that we forget that God is with us! That's what His name means!

Matt 2:16-18- Heord was so angry and so hung up on power that he had innocent lives taken just as Pharaoh did in Moses' time. I my opinion, Herod was possessed by the devil, who was trying to get rid of Jesus. No one in their right mind could kill hundreds of innocent children (2 years old and younger by the way) just to get rid of 1 child, without first being possessed! The prophecy of Jeremiah 31:15 was fulfilled! Its terrible!! :(

Matt 3:17- "This is My Son, in whom I am well pleased" I want to hear God say that He is pleased with me! The way I am now, I know He is not pleased... but God desires persistence not perfection! I will get there! :)

Matt 4:3-10- The devil knows scripture!!! He knew what to say to Jesus! How can we expect to fight a prepared enemy if we are unprepared? He is not new to this, he's been using God's word against mankind since the Garden of Eden! The only way for us to be prepared for him is to cloak ourselves with God first and scripture second!

Matt 5- I LOVE THIS WHOLE CHAPTER!!!!!! The Beattitudes... I need to memorize them! That whole chapter was from the mouth of Jesus! He actually said them! I felt so good after reading this last chapter! I felt light (if that makes sense)! I'm going to try and commit these to memory because they are so amazing to have stored in your mind. :)

I'm glad we started this! Can't wait to see what chapters 6-10 have to bring! Love you guys!
